• 0.2% Retinal, or retinaldehyde, is a form of retinol that is a direct precursor to retinoic acid. This ingredient stimulates collagen synthesis on the skin, decreasing wrinkles, fine lines and loss of firmness. It also stimulates cell renewal, allowing for smoother and more even skin;
• Avenanthramide, found in oats, helps reduce retinoid-related skin discomfort and dryness.

Please note that The Ordinary Retinal 0.2% Emulsion 15ml (0.5floz) uses an airless pump, which can sometimes require priming before the product will dispense on first use. If your pump does not dispense product after 10 pumps, turn the product upside down and tap the cap end firmly on a hard surface a few times.

To use the product, apply a pea-sized amount to clean, dry face and neck in the evening. Avoid the eye contour and contact with the eyes. Start with a weekly application and gradually increase to twice a week, a few days apart, as tolerated by your skin. Apply a moisturizer afterwards. It's not recommended to use this product more than 2 nights a week. Do not use with other retinoid products. Use sun protection during the day.

Patch testing prior to use is advised: Apply a small amount of the product onto a clean area of skin on the upper forearm. Keep the area dry. Rinse off after 24 hours. If any redness, burning, itching, blistering, or irritation is observed at any time throughout the test, do not use the product. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. Do not use with other retinoid products. If, during regular use, any irritation occurs, rinse off, cease use, and consult a physician.
