Redken Shades EQ Gloss Crystal Clear Demi-Permanent Hair Dye is a colorless hair toner developed to provide high shine to the hair and dilute other hair dyes.
Redken Shades EQ Gloss Crystal Clear Demi-Permanent Hair Dye is a clear hair toner that can be used alone or mixed with different Redken Shades EQ Gloss Demi-Permanent hair dyes. As this product does not have color, its main benefits are shine and the ability to dilute other colors.
On one hand, used on its own, this clear hair dye gives the hair a luxurious shiny appearance. On the other hand, when mixed with other colors, it dilutes the hair dye to help to adjust the intensity of the color. The amount of product necessary to dilute the hair dyes will depend on the desired results. Moreover, regardless of how the application, the hair will be optimally conditioned. This is due to its ammonia-free formula infused with wheat amino acids that promote healthy hair. The formula also has an acidic pH that ensures the coloring process is as gentle on the hair as possible.
This product was developed for professional use only and should not, therefore, be used at home. To simply add shine to the hair, mix Redken Shades EQ Gloss Crystal Clear Demi-Permanent Hair Dye with the Redken Shades EQ Gloss Processing Solution or the Redken Shades EQ Developer Gloss to Gel Processing Solution. Use a 1:1 ratio. Alternatively, to dilute other Redken Shades EQ Gloss Demi-Permanent hair dyes, first mix this product with the desired color adjusting the ratio as desired. Then, mix with the best suited developer using a 1:1 ratio. Finally, apply using either a brush or a bottle to the desired areas and with the suitable technique. Allow the hair dye 20 minutes to process on the hair at room temperature then rinse thoroughly.

The numbers on a hair dye identify its shade. The first number is the level, which shows how light or dark the color is, on a scale from 1 (black) to 10 (lightest blonde), with some brands going up to 11 or 12 for very light blondes. The number after the dot, comma, or slash is the tone, or reflect: most brands use 1 for ash, 2 for iridescent or violet, 3 for gold, 4 for copper, 5 for mahogany, and 6 for red, while 0 means a natural tone. So a 6.3, for example, can correspond to a level 6 (dark blonde) with tone 3 (gold), making it a dark golden blonde. A second tone number, like in 6.34, adds a subtler secondary tone, and a 0, like in 6.60, makes it more intense.
Not every brand uses the same system: the same number can stand for a different tone from one brand to another, and some brands use letters instead. The shade information each brand gives for its own hair dye is always the most reliable guide.
