    Is Schwarzkopf's keratin vegan?

    Keratin is a protein of animal origin, which rules it out for anyone shopping for vegan formulas. And it's everywhere in hair care, especially in products recommended for damaged hair. Schwarzkopf Professional found a way around it: a vegan keratin made up of a sequence of 9 amino acids that behaves much like the real thing. In the new BC Bonacure products, it helps rebuild the hair fiber by refilling the gaps left where the hair's own keratin has been damaged, so hair gets its strength and elasticity back.
