Medela SoftCup Spoon Bottle 150ml provides a safe and gentle feeding solution for babies with sucking difficulties, allowing caregivers to easily control and track the amount of milk consumed.
Medela SoftCup Spoon Bottle 150ml is a feeding system designed for short-term feeding of babies with sucking difficulties, offering a gentle and controlled alternative to traditional bottle feeding. In fact, its innovative spoon-shaped soft spout allows for simple, comfortable feeding. Thanks to its thoughtful design, this product offers more control than conventional cups and serves as an excellent alternative to both spoon feeding and bottle feeding with teats.
The device features a one-way valve membrane positioned between the container and the spout, which regulates milk flow by gently squeezing the spout chambers. This mechanism provides caregivers with exceptional control over the feeding pace, minimizing the risk of milk loss and ensuring a safer, more manageable feeding experience. Additionally, the curved base design of the container further reduces spillage, while clear graduation markings allow for reliable tracking of the amount consumed.
The spout is crafted from soft silicone, delivering a pleasant, gentle feeding experience. Moreover, the device is reusable after proper cleaning according to the usage instructions, making it a practical solution for temporary feeding needs. All in all, with a combination of gentle delivery, precise flow control, and easy monitoring, this feeder supports both baby and caregiver during challenging feeding situations.
Before using Medela SoftCup Spoon Bottle 150ml for the first time, It is recommended that the caregiver performs their first feeding(s) with the SoftCup under the supervision of a professional/trained staff.
Before handling the product, wash your hands thoroughly with water and soap and dry them with a clean or single-use paper towel. Before first use and once daily, clean all parts immediately after use and disinfect by submerging all components fully in water and boiling for five minutes, or by using a Quick Clean microwave bag according to its instructions. Allow all parts to dry on a clean cloth before use or storage.
To assemble, hold the valve plate with the high rim facing upward and place the white membrane inside the rim, pushing its knob completely through the central hole. Fill the bottle with the required amount of liquid, then place the assembled valve — rim facing up — onto the bottle opening. Set the silicone reservoir onto the valve plate so that the rim sits inside the reservoir, slide the lid over the reservoir, and screw all parts firmly together.
To fill the reservoir, hold the feeder upright and squeeze just below the pads to release some air, then continue squeezing while turning the feeder upside down. Release the pads to allow liquid to enter the reservoir and repeat until it is almost full. Always check the temperature of the liquid before feeding. Hold the feeder horizontally with a slight upward angle, gently squeeze the pads on both sides of the reservoir to move liquid toward the feeding tip, and touch the infant's lip with the tip to encourage the mouth to open. Rest the reservoir on the infant's lower lip with the feeding tip facing upward and tap gently so the liquid can be fed to the infant, who will usually lap it automatically. The reservoir can be refilled during feeding by squeezing just below the pads while maintaining the horizontal position.
After each use, disassemble all parts, discard any milk remaining in the reservoir, and rinse all components with cold water at approximately 20 °C. Wash with warm soapy water at approximately 30 °C using a fragrance-free and dye-free washing-up liquid, rinse again with cold water, and dry with a clean cloth or leave to air dry. Store all clean parts in a clean bag or environment, ensuring all residual moisture has dried before storage. Do not store parts in an airtight container.
